Preparing the work area before spray foam installation helps the project move faster and more safely.
The exact preparation depends on the project type, but these general steps are helpful for most spray foam jobs.
1. Clear the work area
Please remove personal items, stored materials, furniture, tools, boxes, and anything that may block access to the spray area.
If items cannot be moved, please let us know before the appointment.
2. Provide safe access
Make sure the work area is accessible. This may include access to attics, basements, crawl spaces, garages, mechanical rooms, or renovation areas.
If ladders, hatches, narrow entries, locked doors, or special access points are involved, please tell us in advance.
3. Share photos before the visit
Photos help us understand the project before arrival. Please send clear pictures of:
- The full work area
- Access points
- Walls, ceilings, floors, or roof deck
- Existing insulation
- Moisture or water concerns
- Electrical, plumbing, or mechanical areas nearby
4. Tell us about site conditions
Please let us know if the area is:
- Occupied
- Under renovation
- Hard to access
- Wet or damp
- Recently repaired
- Shared with tenants or other workers
- Limited for parking or equipment access
5. Keep people and pets away from the work area
During spray foam installation, customers, tenants, pets, and other workers should stay away from the spray area unless authorized and properly protected.
Spray Foam GL will provide guidance based on your project.
6. Plan for ventilation and re-entry
Some projects may require ventilation and time before the area can be used again. The recommended re-entry time depends on the product, project size, ventilation, and site conditions.
7. Confirm measurements and project details
Before the appointment, please confirm the approximate square footage, wall height, ceiling height, desired area, and any special requirements.
Before we arrive
Please make sure the area is ready, accessible, and safe for the crew. If anything changes before the appointment, contact Spray Foam GL as soon as possible.
